Comedians Mike Epps, DC Young Fly and DeRay Davis will join the cast of the stoner comedy sequel, ‘How High 2’. Mike Epps will return as ‘Baby Powder’; DC Young Fly is on as ‘Calvin’ and DeRay Davis will play ‘Bang Bang’.
The plot follows ‘two young business-savvy stoners that uncover a vast government conspiracy while embarking on a pot-filled ATL odyssey to find missing weed.’ The Universal film will be written by ‘Family Guy’s’ Artie Johann and Shawn Ries.
Unfortunately, Redman and Method Man will not be returning for the sequel. Hip Hop DX reported that Redman felt disrespected by the exclusion. Redman stated, ‘I wasn’t mad, I was upset [a little] at the fact that I wasn’t notified. I think we deserved to have an answer – instead of the world knowing before we knew [on something we created].’
Over the past 10 years, Redman and Method Man have rallied their fans behind the possibility of a ‘How High’ sequel; hyping their concert crowds with promo announcements (well before the film was in the works). ‘It’s no hard feelings’, Redman goes onto say, ‘At the end of the day, I congratulate DC Young Fly and Lil Yachty. I know they’re gonna do a great job [they better]; I’m about the youth growing. When one door closes, another one opens.’
Although Redman and Method Man might not be reuniting for ‘How High 2′, they are supposedly working on a sequel to the 2009 album ‘Blackout’.
‘How High 2’ will feature special appearances from Blac Youngsta, Nene Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Lil Baby and Justine Skye.
