Pro-athletes meet iconic comics in the upcoming hilarious comedy, ‘Uncle Drew’. The film is loosely based on the Pepsi Max Uncle Drew Ads  that debuted in 2012. Writer Jay Longino first introduced this brilliant script to Director Charles Stone III. Producers Marty Bowen and Myck Godfrey have turned a promising concept into comedy gold with this all-star industry collaboration. Joining the producing crew are John Fisher, Michael Flynn, Michael Paseornek, Mike Upton.

The comedy follows Lil Rel Howery’s character, Dax, who has drained his life-savings to enter into Harlem’s Rucker Classic Street Ball Tournament. Upon losing a game to his long-time rival (Nick Kroll), he decides that winning the tournament and cash prize are his only hope. Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend, Uncle Drew (Kyrie Irving) and convinces him to return to the court one more time. Dax and Uncle Drew embark on a road trip to round up Drew’s old basketball squad (Shaquille O’ Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson and Lisa Leslie) to prove that a group of old-timers can still win the big one.

With just the right comedic edge from Lil Rel Howery, Tiffany Haddish, Mike Epps and JB Smoove and Nick Kroll, this film is set up to be one of the most hilarious comedies of the year.

This week, Temple Hill Productions released the official trailer for the film, with a release date set for June 29, 2018.
