Marlon Wayans & Jay Pharoah Battle It Out On ‘Drop The Mic’

Comedians Marlon Wayans and Jay Pharoah battled it out on TBS’s hit TV show ‘Drop The Mic’. Whether pre-written or ad-libbed, their rap riffs hit hard. Wayans jabbed at Pharoah’s SNL sign-off and Pharoah clapped back with material-stealing accusations. The four-minute diss-execution was painfully accurate for both comics, so we’re not exactly sure if we can consider this a ‘win’ for anybody (except maybe the audience). Having your career moves put on blast is never easy, but both Wayans and Pharaoh delivered their verses fearlessly.

The one-on-one, sound-off series bears an uncanny resemblance to MTV’s notorious Wild N’ Out, but with muted hype. In this series everything is fair game, making for the most intense rap roasts between entertainment industry favorites. So far, the all-star casting has consisted of face-offs from Terry Crews, Wayne Brady, Cedric The Entertainer, Lil Rel Howery, Anthony Anderson and more! Check out the comedians’ ‘Smack Talk’ sessions where Marlon Wayans calls Pharoah a ‘chewed piece of Eddie Murphy gum’ and Pharoah calls out Wayans for ‘dressing like a second grader’ asking if his wardrobe ‘comes with a bagged lunch’.

I mean come on, we can’t with these two.

If the James-Corden-produced series continues to deliver on this level, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
