For the first time in over a decade, we could have a new Dave Chappelle HBO special. While rumors have been circulating about Chappelle’s return to the small screen, Comedy Hype is reporting that an untitled special will make its way to HBO, but no date has been confirmed yet.
While performing at ACL Live in Austin, TX, Dave Chappelle was taping his newest routine. A few users on Reddit confirmed that Chappelle’s camp was taping the show and it tooked like they did that for his 7PM and 9PM sets.
And judging by the comments it looks like Chappelle killed it. If the rumors are true, this could be his first special since For What It’s Worth, which was filmed at The Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco and was released in 2005. I think we speak for everyone when we say this the special we’ve been waiting for. We’ll keep you updated as more details surface.
