Comedy Central has ordered an all new unscripted eight episode weekly series, The Comedy Jam which will give top comedians the chance to rock out to their favorite music.
It will be one of several unscripted series to feature a large musical component. The Comedy Jam is based on a popular Los Angeles live show that first aired as a special on Comedy Central in August. This special featured Jay Pharoah, Natasha Leggero, Adam Devine, Pete Davidson and Jim Jefferies.
Each episode will showcase stand-up comedians performing in front of a live audience, where they will share memorable moments from their lives that are linked with an iconic hit song. After the telling of each story, the comedians will perform the song with a live band called “The Comedy Jam Band.”
The Comedy Jam is set to debut sometime in 2017.
