In 1995, Guy Torry set out to expose talented black comedians to a more mainstream audience. Torry’s idea led him to create Phat Tuesdays, a comedy night in a small room at The Comedy Store. Soon after, Phat Tuesdays became an instant hit and exploded on to the Hollywood comedy scene. 20 years later, Guy Torry is returning to Los Angeles to bring back his legendary comedy event for a very special anniversary show. This is a celebration we have all been waiting for.
Phat Tuesdays is also known for the discovery of many of today’s top comedians such as Chris Tucker, Chris Rock, Nick Cannon, Tommy Davidson, Martin Lawrence, Kevin Hart, Katt Williams, Dave Chappelle, Cedric The Entertainer, Bernie Mac, Mo’nique, Mike Epps, Gary Owen and more.
The show will feature Guy Torry, Joe Torry, Tommy Davidson, Tony Rock, Lavell Crawford, and Luenell.
The 20th Anniversary of Phat Tuesdays will be held on September 1st at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
