Comedian Marlon Wayan’s comedy roles in 2017 have been nothing short of spectacular.
Wayans is back at it again. He stars in the upcoming Netflix Original, “NAKED” and launches TV network sitcom, “Marlon”, with NBC Universal.
In short, Wayan’s Netflix comedy feature follows man-child, Rob Anderson (Marlon Wayans) on his journey to the altar fiancé Megan Swope (Reginal Hall). The night before his wedding, he decides to go out drinking with his best man (Johnathan Todd Jackson). Meanwhile, Rob hasn’t written his vows, learned the steps to his first dance, or remembered the ring. The next morning, he wakes up in an elevator with no recollection of the previous night. Wayan’s character continues to encounter a series of setbacks in a desperate attempt to get to his wedding on time. Despite each challenge he faces, it leads him right back to where he started – in a hotel elevator, naked.
The remake’s premiere debuts on August 11, 2017.
Similarly, Wayan’s NBC family sitcom is set to air in August 2017. The plot follows a loving (immature) father (Marlon) with a larger than life personality. He is a committed parent to his two kids, Zachery (Amir O’Neil) and Marley (Notlim Taylor). Marlon shares the responsibility of parenthood with very-together-ex-wife, Angie (Essence Atkins). For Marlon, family always comes first, even if he’s the biggest kid of all.
The sitcom premieres on August 16th, 2017 at 9/8c.
Collectively, Wayans career in comedy has been highly successful, to say the least. In the past, his roles in films such as White Chicks, Little Man, the Scary Movie series, and Fifty Shades of Black have contributed to his comic all-star status. This month, Wayans will hit the screen with big debuts. We can’t wait to see his epic upcoming performances.
