Lavell Crawford returns to Showtime with his most recent standup special, ‘Lavell Crawford: New Look, Same Funny’. The special will debut on the network July 6, 2019 at 10:35PM (ET/PT).
Filmed in San Antonio, TX, Crawford takes the stage at Charline McCombs Empire Theatre to reflect on his weight-loss journey, political humor and the best way to deal with cops in 2019.
Directed by Brian Volk-Weiss, the segment is executive produced by Cisco Henson, Volk-Weiss, Justin Edbrooke and Crawford.
Lavell Crawford rose to comedic fame in the 90’s as a regular on BET’s ComicView, becoming more mainstream after appearing as a contestant on NBC’s Last Comic Standing (2007). He is most commonly known for his roles in the hit TV series Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, in addition to his appearances on Workaholics and New Girl. Crawford’s film appearances include Compton’s Finest (2018), Friends & Lovers (2005), Meet The Blacks (2016), Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016), The Ridiculous 6 (2015) and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016).
This will be the comedian’s 3rd overall standup special since Netflix’s Can A Brother Get Some Love? (2011) and Showtime’s Home For The Holidays (2017). He has also performed sets in Jamie Foxx Presents: America’s Funniest Comics: Vol 1 (2006) and Laffapalooza: LIVE From Las Vegas (2008).
