This past weekend, Sommore dazzled a UK audience with her LIVE & UNCUT Queen of USA Comedy performances in London. For her international debut, the urban comedy diva delivered her signature set, decorated with her trademark sass and spunk.

In brief, the two-day expo featured performances by:

  • Gina Yashere
  • Eddie Kadi
  • Marlon Davis
  • Kane Brown
  • Originally, Sommore was the first woman to host BET’s ComicView. She also starred on “Queens of Comedy” with Monique, Adele Givens and Laura Hayes. Also, Sommore has self-produced of three of her won standup comedy specials. In addition, the comedienne has made appearances throughout the course of her career on Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo and The Oprah Winfrey Show. In film, Sommore starred in the classic films, Soul Plane (2004) and Friday After Next (2002).

Earlier last week, The Queen of Comedy sat down with UK Publication, ‘The Voice’ to discuss her tour, roots and career inspiration.

With 20 years of experience in her arsenal, the competition still can’t touch her. Sommore’s understanding of the comedy industry e has contributed to her wisdom, grace and signature comedic craft.

“Standup for me has always been about self- expression. As the world has changed, so has my life and my material.”

With her platform comes the opportunity to use her voice as a force of inspiration, gratitude and influence – a gift she certainly does not take lightly.

“Representation matters, and I see that as a huge accomplishment. When I chose to become a comedian, I hadn’t seen many young African-American women speaking so freely about their choices and views on life. I was brave enough to share my perspective with the world. My instincts were right.”

It is no surprise that Sommore delivered one of her most paramount performances at The O2 and Birmingham Town Hall in London on Friday, June 16th and Saturday, June 17th.

Recently, Sommore’s UK debut is just the start for this seasoned, brilliant star.

“I believe that laughter will never go out of style. Even when times are tough, comedians will find unique ways to make the world think and laugh – that’s why we’ll keep on going.”
