We’ve been hearing talk about a potential Bad Boys 3 in the works at Sony for a long, long time now. As it turns out, Sony is looking to continue the stories of officers Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett as they have just confirmed release dates of Bad Boys 3 and Bad Boys 4.
Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do, when they come for you. Sony officially announced the sequels release dates although not much more is known at this time about the films. Bad Boys 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on February 17, 2017, while Bad Boys 4 will hit theaters two years later on July 3, 2019.
The studio is pushing to get the script ready in time for star Will Smith to jump right into it after he finishes filming ‘Suicide Squad’ which is set to be released on August 5, 2016.
The original two Bad Boys films starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as hard-nosed cops who went on over-the-top police adventures. Fans have been asking for a third Bad Boys film for a while. Finally, after waiting 12 years, they will get not only one but TWO new sequels for their ‘Bad Boys’ franchise.
Bad Boys 2 was released on July 18th, 2003 and grossed $273,339,556 in box offices worldwide. The first installment, Bad Boys, debuted in 1995 and raked in $141.6 million in sales.
