The cable network FX has green lit a comedy pilot based on the life of rapper and comedian Lil Dicky (Dave Burd). Kevin Hart is set to be executive producer on the project.
The untitled half-hour comedy series will center around a suburban neurotic 20 something year old who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. He must now show the world that this is true.
Rapper and actor Lil Dicky drew critical acclaim and commercial success with his album Professional Rapper, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Comedy, Rap and Independent Charts. His latest single, Freaky Friday, featuring Chris Brown peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been on the charts since its release.
