We have some good news for those who are sad about Jay Pharoah’s unexpected departure from Saturday Night Live.  Comedian Jay Pharoah who recently exited SNL has landed the lead role in Showtime’s comedy pilot ‘White Famous’.

If the pilot goes to series, ‘White Famous’ will be a half-hour series with Jamie Foxx as executive producer who will also guest-star in a recurring role.

The project, which is based on an idea from Foxx , centers on a talented black comedian named Floyd Mooney (Pharoah) who struggles with how to stay true to himself as he begins to cross over towards becoming ‘white famous’.

The announcement for the pilot was made by David Nevins, President and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc. at the 2016 Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour.
