Kenan Thompson may be changing gears after his 16-season career with SNL.
Currently, Thompson has a single-cam NBC comedy in the works with Creator/Executive Producer Lorne Michaels and Jackie Clarke.
The series, ‘Saving Larry’ follows a newly widowed Dad (Thompson) navigating the challenges of being a single parent; while having to do it all under his father-in-law’s microscope.
The production has yet to be picked up, but sources say Thompson is likely to leave the show (at least as a full time cast member) once the primetime comedy takes off.
Thompson currently holds the record for longest serving cast member in SNL history, making his debut in 2003.
